On this page you can find my reflections on my music journey and my inspirations on composing and performing music.
get to know me

I am Elisa Brodbeck and currently, I am seventeen years old. I am originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I lived until the end of June 2021. I am extremely passionate about music since I can remember. By the time I was around 7/8 years old, my parents searched for a place for me to apply this interest. They found the “CCOSB”, which is a free translation, stands for Children Choir of the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra. There I learned how to sing and how to sing in public with technique and the bases of music theory. When I was around 10/11 the choir was shut down for internal reasons at the symphonic orchestra and my maestro from the children’s choir, who was also a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro invited me to join the Youth choir from UNIRIO where I participated until the pandemic started and the weekly encounters weren’t possible anymore. There I could get more experience singing pieces of up to 6 voices parts and have the opportunity to perform In important places from Rio.
During the time I stayed on the choirs, I start learning the ukulele and acoustic guitar by myself, mostly to accompany my singing and record song I enjoyed on my Instagram, either playing along or with a instrumental background. And in 2019, on my birthday, my parents gave me a keyboard as a gift and I’ve been learning by myself since.
Once I moved to Luxembourg, at the summer of 2021, I enrolled at the International School of Differdange and started taking music classes there, where I could learn more about music production and the Garage Band software. This year I’m starting the music production club, I keep having my music classes in school and joined the École de Musique de Hesperange, where I’m investing in music theory and singing lessons, each one once a week. So I can have a better understanding of singing techniques and a broader knowledge of theory, developing more domains for composing and reading music.
Where am I and where i want to go?
Most of my music journey has been autonomous and instintic. My main goal for now is to improve my musical ear and being able to create melodies more intentionally and harmonically. On the following semesters I intend on learning and understanding more of music theory, mostly different scales and keys, and being able to read music more comfortably. With my new classes on the École de Musique I believe I’ll be able to learn more about the bases of music theory and on both music production and music classes on school I’ll be able to learn, mostly by experimenting, how to use the theory to music practice and composing.
On the second semester of 2022 I started on the Escole de Musique de Hesperange, where I’m taking solfège and singing lessons. I also enrolled at the Music Production club at school to improve my compositions skills and new ways to use the GarageBand software.
My main references and what inspires me
I believe that my musical taste is eclectic. I love different music genres from Brazil and abroad. If someone searches through my main playlist I’m sure will be faced with revolutionary music from the 70’s in Brazil, techno from France and Germany, Waporwave, Samba, Tropicália, Indie music from South America and Europe and, of course, Japanese Bossa Nova/Jazz.
All the artists i listen to have an direct impact on my creative process. Of course my roots, the music I have been listening to since I was born has a major impact on my musical style, but in reality, what I am most passionated is to mix and combine different styles and music elements into my creations.
